Holy smokes Americanworkmule, that thing looks GREAT!! I really like the bobber look that you did. Very well done! I really like the exhaust in particular.

Jetfever every time I see your bike I have to compliment you. What a great bike you have too.

I forgot what I helped with but I'm sure glad I was able to help in some small way! That's what makes a forum great, when members help each other with how to tips.

This is what I'm talking about. I had a bike several years ago that I bobbed and found out the larger springs like you have could even be dangerous so I found some shorter ones that were larger in diameter. (stiffer) They seemed to work pretty well but I remember seeing on TV (OCC) where they got 2 little shocks which gave their fat-***** more stability! haha, sorry I cant be of more help.EDIT: Picture is not the shorter/stiffer springs.

Default Seat Shocks

I considered using these ChopperShox before I found the XBones set up for my bike. These shocks would end up placing my seat a bit higher, and since I have a "Softail" I thought they might be overkill. Awesome for a hardtail bike though.

The front seat mount is as important as the rear to prevent any side to side wobble.

Thanks for the compliment Joe!

I thought about those Jet, but I read somewhere that they were too stiff or didn't spring enough...
Well, I just also read they need to be mounted at a 45 degree angle for best function.

I used yours and someone elses idea about using the Crossbones front seat mount for this bike. I had to massage it some to make it fit.

here it is on the jockeyjournal forum

Default Re: Seat springs
I had chopper shox before. The spring rating system is wayyy the **** off according to the guy that sells them and i guess made up his own spring rating system based on his liking of rigid seats . Springs for A 165 LB rider hardly move at all. I wanted to but never tried the lightest gauge springs the same guy ( owner) said they would bottom out. The mid grade rated for 165 to 185 lbs or some crap like that according to him, barely moved and i weigh 210. Should have gotten the light ga.

I remember, it sure turned out great!

I like the tall seat, are you having any trouble with it?

Also, are you having any trouble with your bars slipping? You can pin them if you are.

However, if they are not pinned, you can always "adjust" them on the fly if you see someone about to give you a hard time about how high they are. Just pull them back and they'll be lower!

Those are AWESOME! (I bet they give more than you think and you can see they are adjustable)
