Default Brake light is flashing , but is not working

So I am new to Harley-Davidsons, and have now run into my first issue. I bought an 08 Crossbones that has been heavily modified and it has LED lights in the front and in the rear as brake/turn signals. My main brake light is now flashing when the bike is on, and none of the 3 rear lights work when the brakes are applied. They all just stay on and the main one continues to flash. I checked the fuses and all the wires under the seat, but everything appears to be fine. I have not removed the rear fender yet to check the wiring back to the light, hoping someone on here might be able to point me in the right direction. I did a search but everything that came up dealt with the flashing brake lights that are made that way. Thanks in advanced.

From firsthand experience (Fatboy Lo) take a quick look under the fender to make sure the wiring hasn't fallen down and been chewed up by the rear tire. I had the double sided tape on my harness fail and the wiring fell down and got beat up. Had all manner of weirdness going on at the taillight following. New harness was ~$40 if I remember correctly.

Can you post any pics of your setup?

I would say under the seat and just a rear shot of the bike.

So, without even hating the brake, the rear brake light flashes?

Yep, as soon as I turn the bike on it starts flashing, and applying the brakes does not change the flashing. When I bought it a few weeks ago, all 3 rear lights would indicate braking when the brakes were applied. Here is a picture of the rearend, not sure why they keep attaching upside down.

Well, the lights are all working now after sitting overnight. Here are some pictures of the wiring under the seat, as well as the rear end lit up. Also I noticed after fiddling with the wires yesterday my rear brake light now flashes when it is in use, that was not what was happening yesterday.

Looking at the picture of your wiring, the previous owner used quick connects for the rear lights/indicators ... they are notorious for oxidation of the wires. 9 chances in 10 that is where you problem is.

I would check those first. The fact that everything worked after you wriggled the wires points in that direction too.

Nice bike by the way!
