2007 Softail wheel a on 2004 Softail?
Purchased a set of the smoothie rims to install on my sons 2004 Heritage. I look up online and everything I see said 2004-2015 Heritage wheels were interchangeable. I did know that the 2007 and up Softail's were different. But since I saw on many different interchange charts show they will fit is why I bought them. But of course when I went to install them the bearings in the 2007 wheels take a much larger axle. My question is do I just get new axles and they will pop right On and align properly for the brake rotors? Do I just pop the bearings out of my old wheels and install them on the new wheels? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

From JP cycles: 2000-2007 Softails have 3/4in front and rear axles except the '07 have 25mm front. 2008 and up have 25mm front and rear axles except the '08-'11 FLSTSB front is 3/4in.
Bearing don't pop out. You drive them out or pull them with force. You don't reuse them.
You shouldn't need to change anything on the rear. Both new and old are set up for 3/4in axle.
You should be able to find spacers and bearings for the front to work. Or buy a 25mm axle, bearings and spacers.
I did a Fat Boy wheel conversion to my Street Bob and had a cycle shop machine the spacers. I was dealing with 1in to 25mm axles.

Can I just get a new front 25mm axle and spacer kit and use the bearings that came with the wheels I purchase off of the 2007 Deluxe? Was thinking I could just buy the axle and spacer kit for the front and not having to buy anything for the rear since it sounds like it takes the same axle on the rear?

You can or you can for 35 bucks get bearing adapter off ebay. American Motors, a custom motorcycle shop in PA sells them. I have a set on my bike right now and it causes no issues. I did the exact size you need. Should at least check it out. All you have to do is take front wheel off slide adapters on each side, they take up no extra room, slam back together, factory torque and go. 1 hour your back on the road.
