I also use two zip ties that I douse in WD40 to keep from splitting when they're on for a while. Instead of tape, I put rubber hose on the swing arm that I split down the middle. Keeps the powder coat safe and is easy to remove for cleaning.

I use a bracket made by Dead Creek. It's stout... attaches to the swing arm using the belt guard mount points and has a plate that sandwiches the bag with 4 mounting bolts.

Definitely could have made something similar myself for less $, but I like it. It spaces the bag off the swing arm a bit, and I don't worry about it falling off or the straps failing.

I couldn't stand those straps, never could get them tight, so I made my own bracket. Now it's solid as a rock. I probably would have gone with Dead Creeks had I seen it first.

yeah, that's what worried me. even though the zip ties worked ok, the bag has small fabric loops the i put the zip ties through. they're worn out. so i'm just gonna get the dead creek bracket and drill some holes in the beg i have.

I've got the same bracket and I recommend it as well. The mounting plate will keep the bag from sagging or distorting over time plus it spaces the bag away nicely from the frame and saves the paint. The only thing I don't like about it is it's a pain in the *** to take off in a hurry if you have to. Luckily for me the bag stays on my bike all the time and the benefits out-weigh the negative.

I have the Dead Creek bracket and I thought it sat a little far off of things the way it came. I swapped out some of the hardware to make it sit a little more flush.

Some of the studs. I was able to use the included spacers since you normally stack them up... I just reduced the stack or just used one instead of two depending on the spot.

I also used button head socket cap screws inside the bag instead of the hex head bolts they include to save my knuckles when reaching into the bag.
