Question on 160 rear tire
I am needing to geta new tire for my 2003 softail and would like to go to a 160 from a 150. Anyone have any reccomendation on what tire to get and anyone have pictures with a 160 or how it worked on their bike. I am gona have to stick with the stock rim for now which is 3" wide. I read somewhere it isn't recommended to put a 160 on the 3" rim. Anyone have a comment on that? I like the Metzler but didn't see a 160 in JP Cycles.

RE: Question on 160 rear tire
I went to an 18"160 on my '05 XL Custom. After doing some research, I decided to go with the Metzeler ME880. I also went witha Metz 90/90 up front too. Best mod I have yet made to my bike. These tires blow the stock away as the bike handles and corners better than I could have imagined. Check my gallery out and you can get a pretty good idea what the Metzelers look like....Good luck.

RE: Question on 160 rear tire
Wishbone is the Avon 150 wider than the stock 150 or something? I looked at the Avon they have a 160 also. Are you saying the Avon 150 is wider than their 160?
Warrior I like the tire, I actually love the Metzler but can't afford the 18" rim right now but wish I could. I would like to get that tire if they had it in a 16" but couldn't find a Metzler 160 for 16"

RE: Question on 160 rear tire
THE 80 SERIES 150 IS WIDER THAN THE STOCK 85 SERIES. JUST PUT THIS TIRE ON MY BIKE TAKING OFF A METZLER 150 AN IT IS A LOT WIDER. HAD TO DO A LITTLE ADJUSTING AND IT IS CLOSE TO THE FENDER......I SEE THAT YOU RIDE "TWO-UP" SO BE CAREFUL OF GETTING TOOBIG OF A TIRE IN CASE YOU MIGHT BOTTOM OUT. I AM REFERRING TO A AVON VENOM 150/80B16 SIZE TIRE.

RE: Question on 160 rear tire
I put a 160 ME880 Metzler on my 01 Softail, you have to make sure the wheel is spaced so it is in
the center of the fender which may require new spacers, some milling on the caliper etc. Also had
to put jam nuts on the struts and cut off the excess off of the strut bolts. But it really fills up
the fender well.
