I've loked into this and gt a few prices. Mid-price seems to be $750 if you strip the bike down to the bare frame, $2500 if you ride the bike in and ride it out after the work has been done.

Good Luck!

Boone, where do you live again? As said, anywhere from 700 on up. It just depends on the shop and how much you're willing to do yourself. You don't have to completely strip the bike. It can actually be done with the driveline still in the frame. Of couse, it's easier to work with a bare frame, but not absolutely required. Let me know where you live and I'll see what I can come up for you in your area. This winter, mine's getting cut. Going out 4 to 6 inches on the backbone and kicking the rake to 40-45 degrees. Just didn't have time to do it this past winter. Too many mods, not enough time and money. The story of my life.

Careful.. Ride one first that's been raked. You might regret it..
I talked to a guy last weekend with a raked fatboy who was still getting used to it and wasn't too crazy about it.

The Harley dealership here told me that if the frame has been cut, the bike cannot be traded in on another bike there. They said they can't guarantee a frame that's been cut, so they can't say the bike is safe to ride. So if you think you might trade in the bike someday, I would stay away from modifying the frame. You can get chopper kits that pretty much put a new neck on your bike to rake it out. That way you know the rake and trail will be right, and they can be removed at any time because there's nopermanent modification. You might want to take a look at those before you cut the frame.
