I have a 2006 FXST with the stock laced front 21" tire and rim. Is there a tube in this tire? The Dunlop on the sidewall says, "Tubeless" but I'm not convinced it's tubeless being a laced rim and the service manual doesn't say whether the front tire is tubeless or not.

Let me put it another way. The tire is rated for use without a tube. But on the spoked wheel that Harley uses, a tube is required.

You can use the tire on a cast wheel without a tube, but if you use a spoked wheel it requires a tube.

 

If the spokes are in the middle of the rim it has a tube.I recently looked at a BMW that has spokes but the spokes are tied in to the outside of the rim, therefore rendering it tubeless.

Not to purchase.My bud is a bike mechanic that specializes in BMW's.I was at his shop.I've never been to engineering school so I could'nt possibly buy one of those, let alone work on it.Lotta jack.If you think dealerships charge a lot to work on a HD, a BMW tech will make you sh!~t.
