Default Passenger Footboard Mounts for Deluxe

I've just installed Vance and Hines true duals on my 2005 Deluxe, and want to install passenger floorboards. The Harley kit for the Deluxe will not work, since installation of the duals required removal of the right side passenger footpeg/exhaust mount bracket.

Has anybody out there install passenger floorboards on their Deluxe with dual exhaust?

With the 2005 deluxe you should be able to use the kit for the heritage.Canyousee the hole where the passenger peg mounted in the frame on the right? The heritage kit uses brakets that are both like the left braket in the deluxe kit.

Eric,

Here's another problem. The V&H true duals ride about 1" higher than the lowest of the two original equipment staggered pipes. What this does is create a clearance problem on both sides of the bike. The Deluxe floorboard bracket kit places the floorboards in conflict with the pipes on both sides. Hopefully, somebody who has installed true duals has addressed this issue!

I am putting V&H duals on my 07 FLSTN now. No problem with height re: the floorboards. I used a Heritage frame and floorboard mtg bracket on the right side with the FLSTN passenger floorboards. The problem I am finding is that the V&H left side pipe uses a bracket (V&H pn 428-P) to support the hoop in the pipe. This bracket mounts behind the original footpeg, only I have floorboards and it won't work. As of today I haven't figured out what to do. I'll post back when I do.

Well I finished the install last night. I ended up leaving the support bracket (V&H PN 428-P) off. I thought I was gonna half to cut the bracket and weld it to the floor board frame mount, but the exhaust pipe was sturdy enough, soI just left it off.

I have no interference with the HD Deluxe floorboards at all.

It's been raining here all day and is expected to continue thru the week. I'll post some pics as soon as I can get them.

All in alll, I'm very pleased with the Vance & Hines duals. I puchased the quiet baffles and removed the fiberglass backing. The're just loud enough to take notice, but not too loud. My daughter can still talk to me at highway speeds.

The bracket in question will work with floorboards. I installed my True Duals in October 2007 on my FLSTCI (Deluxe should be the same frame etc). You have to mount the bracket between the frame rail and the backside of the floorboard bracket. I needed a longer bolt on my setup because I have saddlebag guards. You may need to install the saddlebag relocation kit as well. Hope this helps.

Default Question

I'd like to revive this thread. I have the Kuryakyn Boomerang frame covers and anti-rotation floorboard mounts on my 05 Deluxe. Like the anti-rotation because they are all chrome. Anyway, on the left side of the bike, the anti-rotation mounts over the pivot bolt with a chrome cover that sticks out. I am attaching a few pix to show the set-up. I plan on calling V&H on Monday to get their take, and would welcome all opinions. For example, do I really need the bracket 428P or can I discard? Thanks for any imput.

I was able to put the floorboard mounts on with a little mods to the mounts.

Default Link to the accessories needed?

Would any of you mind posting the actual pieces needed to install the foodboards over/or under the pipes? I have done research and am unable to locate the actual accessories needed to install the passenger footboards.

Thanks.
