Default Wind Deflectors

I am looking for a set of high quality wind deflectors for a 2005 Heritage Classic. Who makes the best set and do they work good?

are you referring to the lower deflectors to keep wind from coming under the windshield?

If so, there has been several comments here that the HD Chrome lower deflectors work as intended.

Yep, those are the ones. I have seen a few on the web and they range from $45.00 to well over $100. Generally, you get what you pay for, but thought someone might have some info before I start ordering.

I have the wind deflectors that Harley Davidson sells installed on my bike. It is amazing of the amount of wind they keep off your ears with the windshild. I give them thumbs up for function.

I've pondered the thought of getting wind deflectors, but was discouraged against it by one of my fellow riders. He heard these deflectors also disrupt airflow to the engine. I live in the sunny south, and temps near 100 degrees are common in the summer. Disrupted airflow could pose a problem, but I would like them for the winter riding option since I plan year-round scootering...

Thoughts on blocked airflow to the engine during hot weather?
Do they lend themselves to easy removal during the summer?
If so, any thoughts on the potential for scuffing/marring from the mounting brackets? (can't have that!)

I'm open to new shiny things to bolt onto my scooter, especially if they provide a functional benefit.

I can't imagine these blocking air flow anymore that the lowers on an Ultra Classic. I have had them on every bike I have owned, and never had a problem. The air is still free to come through the frame uprights and right onto the motor. There is also plenty of airflow coming around the bottom of the deflectors. You can tell this by how much wind your lower legs are getting.

There is a deflector that goes between the forks on the Dressers that is supposed to disrupt air to the engine. Maybe this is what your friend heard about???

Bill

Could be Bill... I might have to get some of these things. They had some at my HD shop when I was down there today, but I didn't want to get them until I saw more on this thread. However, I did get one of the HD clocks which mount on the master cylinder housing... Looks good, but is a pain to set.
