Default SE slip-ons for 2007 Deluxe?

Hi, I am the proud owner of the 07 Deluxe / cobalt blue.

Knowing about the restrictions from my previous V-twin cruiser, Iimmediately installed the PC III / USB and K&N kit.

I just picked up a pair of SE "Street Performance" slip-ons, they look good and have a bit more flow, but onlyhave a noise rating of only 80db.

In keeping with the stock shotgunexhasut setup, does anyone have any advice toget a little more sound out of these slip-ons. I imagine someone will come up with a mod for this slip-on. I was thinking about removing the baffle and drilling some extra holes in there, don't want to remove it entirely.

HD description and part # 80501-07
Screamin Eagle street performance slip on mufflers-softail deluxe 2007- These new street performance mufflers feature unique, high flow internals that produce bold sound, and improved performance you can feel from the saddle. Street mufflers feature a stylish ballistic-shape inlet design. Compliment the unique inlet shape with matching shields(sold separately) that feature a deep embossed screamin eagle script. 50 state street legal on stock 2007 model engines. Fits 07 FLSTN models with shotgun exhaust. These are slash downcut.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

If I were you..I would just buy aset ofreal pipes with removable baffels. You can probably sell your slip ons on ebay really easy. I know there are some great deals on pipes on ebay and installation is pretty simple. Thats what I did anyway. Good Luck

HD quit making the good sounding Screamin Eagle II Slip Ons,I have heard that alot of people are unhappy with the amount of sound with the new 07 SE Slip Ons. If you do start to drill out the stock baffles and then are not happy with the results then they are no good. I would see if you could buy a left over set or a good used set of the Screamin Eagle II Slip Ons that wouldfit a 06 Softail. I am sure they would fit, the stock exhaust pipes that you would be sliping them onto are the same size as the 06.I believe on the Screamin Eagle II you can take out the baffles via a set screw, if you wanted more sound than what their stock baffles provided you could slip in a Big City Monster Thunder Baffle. Another option would be to go with a different brand of slip on for more sound over the 07 SE Slip Ons.

Trust me, I have sold lots of stuff on E-Bay and either broke even or made money, with good pics and a good explenation of what you have I bet you could get rid of the quiet 07 SE Slip Onsno problem.

Later,
Dan

I had the '07 slip ons andI drilled holes in them. I still was not satisfied with the sound or performance so I put on a set of Rush 2.0 slip ons and gained not only the sound I wanted but my HP an TQ went way up. 76 hp and 87 TQ. I gained 7 on the HP and 8 on the TQ! So that tells me that the SE's are only slightly less restrictive then stock.

I HAD the Cycle Shack slip on's on my bike, and for the most part the look like the stockmufflers and they sound similar to the new $500.00 big radius. (FYI Cycle Shack slip on's are $130.00 new)
