Here's a pic of the bike (not that it will help.. but.. at least you see what i'm working with)

If you can get a Mustang with rider backrest, I think that would be the way to go. My wife and sister both have Sportsters. My wife has the Mustang Vintage Solo withdriver backrest, and my sister has a Corbin solo with a driver backrest. The Mustang is much more comfortable than the Corbin. The Corbin is still a very nice seat, though. However, it's hard as a board until it gets broken in. I've heard that it takes about 1,000 miles to break in a Corbin seat good. So my recommendation is to go with the Mustang. Just my $.02. Beautiful bike by the way. I love Springers.

As you can see by my sig, the Mustang wide vintage looks very much like the seat you have minus the pillion. I love the backrest-am not nearly as tired at the end of the day. For around town, it pops right out. Lays as flat as you see it for getting on & off.

This is my "more than 150 miles in a day" seat. Best seat I have had (also had a saddleman). Although it doesnt have the backrest, the lumbar support of the removable pillion is enough for me. Very comfortable seat

I've had the Mustang Wide Vintage Solo with Driver's Backrest for about 1,000 miles
and switched to a Cobin Gunfighter with Driver's Backrest for about a 1,000 miles now.

I switched because I like the looks of the Gunfighter better and Mustang doesn't make their Gunfighter model with a rider's backrest.

I must admit the Mustnag is slightly more comfortable and I never had any numbbutt while I had that seat.
Like I said I've had the Corbin for 1,000 miles and it still as hard as the day I got it.
Not bad, but I admit the Mustang is more comfy.

and the backrest just slips in and out of the seat on the Mustang.

Oh yeah I forgot.

The people at Mustang were very nice to work with (order from). [sm=smiley20.gif]
Try that with the people at Corbin. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

Remind me again why I sold my Mustang?

Thx.. appreciate that.. I know that folks seem to be very pro or con on Corbins.. not much middle ground. Will be eager to hear your views..

Thx for the compliment on the bike.. Not bad yourself, to say the least! Beautiful scoot... love the paint job! I have a Mustang Day Tripper now (not pic'd).. thinking that a Mustang w/ a backrest would be the way to go... buttttt.. I need to have something to put my HD bag that slips over the sissy bar.

Yep.. and w/ your saddlebags, Ironhorselady.. you have somewhere to 'put da' stuff' .. I don't want to go the saddlebag route on mine so need the 'T Bag' type solution...
