RE: fatboy history
The Snopes article and it seems you too Chops, have forgotten thatthe the japs HAD BOMBED PEARL HARBOR AND KILLED THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHEN THE USA WASN'T EVEN IN THE WAR YET. So if the japs take it as a jab there is not one American that should care. I am proud to be an American and support our troops then and now.I ride my FatBoy with the USA,Harley Davidson,Eagleor AirForcewingsPROUDLY.

RE: fatboy history
I just looked up Terminator 2. Seems it didn't come out until 1991. The fatboy was on it's own until then.
I'm sure Ahhnold helped it sell well though.

RE: fatboy history
Myth or not...it's pretty interesting. Not sure about this but, I've been told the original FB was released 45 years TO THE DAYof the Hiroshima mission which would have been August 6th 1945. <-----not sure about this. I've been searching the net and can't find the exact release date of the Fat Boy.
Also...the new Fat Boy's have 1/2" diameter holesin the rims. Most American WWII fighter aircraft and bombers used machine guns that fired 1/2" diameter bullets (including the B-29). Most people call them the .50cal

I shouldn't have included you. I apologize. It seemed like you were wanting to side with the article.I do want to apologize though, I had no right to include you. I had a Grandpa who was fighting the japs in WW2, so it's a touchy subject for me. EVERYONE ON THE FORUM, I APOLOGIZE FOR INCLUDING CHOPS IN MY POST. SORRY.
Chops, are we cool?

AAAAAAAAAAAll right i am new to the forum here..... i have always wanted a harley and i have ALWAYS loved the fatboy..... had to get something that said...... ME... and a fatboy i am.. lol... now i just purchased a 2016 fatboy s..... and i LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it... but i really don't care for the "badge" i like smooth and what i'm going to do is change the logo a little bit... with a little willie g and the wings included... but i don't want to wander away from the significance of the ACTUAL logo..... HD in the circle, wings.... and then the reason for my question.... "the star"... i have looked and looked.... what is the significance of the star? i've looked at the museum pages and anybody else i could ask.... so before i omit the star in my logo i would like to know what i'm erasing before i actually do so.... its like trying to remove the anchor on the USMC emblem......the eagle globe and anchor all MEAN something so i don't want to disrespect someone due to ignorance and laziness...... can someone please help? thanks
