Default Heel toe shifter not returning

OK guys, yesterday my heel toe shifter on my 06 Fatboy started to stick when I shift, it is not returning to the up position. It only does it once in awhile, not all the time. Easy fix or trip to the dealer? It is still under warranty but it sure is a pain in the a** taking it there.

I had that happen a couple times to me. With mine it was not stuck, it moved freely but just did not return on its own. I took it to the dealer and they lubed everything up good but that was not the problem. It seemed to get better as the bike broke in and I don't think it is anything serious. Does this sound like what yoursis doing?

I've seen the return spring broken on a couple of bikes.Take it to the dealer, tell them to check that. It's under warrenty,so you're good to go.

That happened to me on my 04 heritage. All I had to do was take shift levers off and lube the shaft. When you put them back on,leave a little space between levers and bracket. They are binding a little causing them to stick. It's too easy of a fix to mess with the dealer and warranty. IMO

Thanks guys, I'll give the shaft lube a try. What is the best thing to lube it with?

When that happened to me it was a bushing that was binding up, the stealer put in new bushing & it was good to go

I had the same problem. I used brake caliper grease. I figured it was thick and waterproof so it should stay on a while.
