Default brake and shift lever replacements

Greetings:

Newbie here (07 softail custom)

I would like to change the plain jane rubber on brake and shift lever.

It appears based on those items listed in catalog that a different lever will also be required as the current pads appear to be "stuck" on with glue or similar.

Would someone confirm what I already fear?

Thanks in advance

You can "slide" off the rubber pad on the brake lever. Just take a screwdriver and pry it from the foot side of the pad. The new pad will cover up any scratches you do on the lever as long as its under where the existing pad is now.

The shifter peg unscrews from the lever. I had to cut the rubber off with a utility knife and the use a pair of visegrips to unscrew it. No big deal though.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Great looking softail by the way.

Nice balance of custom but doesn't look like it is straight out of the catalog.
