Default Left hand side chrome switch housing moulds

G'day,

Hey has anybody had a problem with the Left hand side chrome switch housing moulds when they have tried to switch from the black? I managed to get the right hand side done but the left hand lower half seems to have been cast badly inside and I cannot get a bit to clip in properly and so have put the black lower half back on for now. It is definitely the moulding because I could easily re-assemble the original black housing but not the chrome despite them looking identical...

Did anybody else have this problem and how did you overcome it?

If you bought them at a local dealer take the one piece back and see if they'll swap it out for a part from another box. The parts are supposed to be a direct replacement for the stock pieces and they should fit properly. If they don't, the dealer owes you a replacement.

I switched mine out as well. If your having a fitment problem with the chrome one and not the origional, there has to be a slight difference. I'd take them both back if you bought them as a kit and exchange them. If you only take the one back there probably going to want to send them back as a kit. Call the merchant first so you don't have to do double work. Good luck

DeanO,
I just put the chromeswitch coverson...had the same problem with the left side lower half.Used a file and took off maybe a sliver of the corner to the black clip that holds all the wires and it slipped right in. No problems.

Indeed, I don't think HD makes a part that is merely plug and play. I am always having to tinker or modify slightly a right out of the box item that is "supposed" to bolt right up.
