Default Vance and Hines Big Radius too loud or not

I have a 07 Night train and plan to do a stage-1on it in the next few weeks.
I really like the BR but wonder about the sound on the HWY,
My wife rides with me and She wants the pipes more than me.
I just want a throaty sound and for the bike to run better.
Any input?

i ahve the Big Radius on a 03 deuce... sound seems more like a cackle to me, then throaty. love the looks, but would like a deeper sound.

I've got them on my stc, love em. Their loud, but once you get rolling they smooth out and above 50 I hear the wind more than the pipes. And we ride 2 up most of the time, the wife doesnt fuss, so I reckon she must like em too

If you had the Thunder Monster baffles it wouldnt sound like that. You would have your throaty sound.

"Loud" is a matter of opinion. I have the big radius pipes on my 07 fatboy and I love them, but i do wish that they were a bit louder. I guess I am a little different than others, but I want my bike to sound like a harley. I grew up around harleys and choppers and I only remember them sounding one way and that was loud. I do still have the baffels in my pipes, i just have not had a chance to remove them yet. I ride two alot of the time and my wife never complains. Like it was stated above, once your on the HWY they smooth out alot.

I agree, once at highway speed I can hardley hear my pipes unless I give it more throttle. As for around town I have had no problems with neighbors as I leave for work at 6:30 am. Just have to take it easy in the morning.

I agree, once at highway speed I can hardley hear my pipes either.
I can (SWEET too), but the wind noise is what's a bother.

You can always change the baffles I think.
Quiter or louder.
These pipes look awsome, get the ones you want.

I would like to install the Big City Thunder baffels; but I can't figure out how to remove my Big Radius baffels.
Is there a trick?
