Mods to stock exhaust baffles, what were your results?
#22
Wow, this is a blast from the past. Thought I would add an update as long as this thread has been brought back to life.
Here we are four and one half years later and I still have the modified mufflers on the bike (as well as still having the original stock mufflers as spares). Not sure what modifications folks made to get the undesired sounds described above. I must have been lucky, as I ended up with exactly what I wanted.
The cost back on '07? The entire, new takeoff set of pipes for $10 + $17 shipping off eBay. It actually cost the seller more than $27 to ship. -stef

Exhausted
Nothing better than Thunderheader pipe for sound and performance on all my mods. I've tried 4 sets of pipes on my Twin Cam 96 (now a 107). You Must have a fuel management system and better air cleaner for it to work. Suggest S&S teardrop and Terry Components TV-3 if you stay with stock cams and heads. Otherwise, you will need a dyno tune with a Mastertune system.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.
