Default Servicing Question...Sort of

I'm down to only going to the dealer for the oil/tranny/primary o-rings for servicing. As the local dealer is full of arrogant know-it-alls, I'd just as soon spend my $$ someplace else. With that said, are there any places to pick up these parts outside the dealer? I looked at Home Depot and the have a good selection but they are for plumbing and I don't believe they would hold up to the temps generated by the engine. Any clues?

You can order it all from zanotti www.zanottimotor.com...I'm like you, I go to the dealer for this stuff only too. I don't talk to people about the servicing of the bike and they don't give their opinion to me. Never have. There were a few threads saying that they got the o rings at ACE or Home depot and the filters elsewhere. I buy my oil at Auto Zone. Mobil 1 v twin. They have good gear oil too but I oredered redline from myoilstore.com which is owned by a forum member too...

Home Depot, Harley... Works for me. I agree though, the compounds are probably quite a bit different...

I went down to Autozone with the o-rings from my drain plugs in hand and matched them up with what they had in stock. Had a large divided tray with all different sizes behind the counter. Don't remember the exact cost, but it wasn't more than $5 or $6 for all three..2500 miles later, no issues. Hope this helps.
