What color to powdercoat my new Thunderstar wheels
Hello All,
I am about to get my thunderstar rims I just picked up powdercoated but I can't decide on which color to go with. I am undecided between these colors, any insight/feedback in helping with my decision would be greatly appreciated. I have chrome thunderstar sprocket and polished floating rotors to go on them when it goes back together. I like the chrome/black/dark contrast. Thanks for the input
My Bike:
Thunderstar Wheels:
Color Options:
Silver Metallic
Charcoal Metallic
Gunmetal Metallic
Candy Blue (was my original pick but then thought that the blue would be overkill)

RE: What color to powdercoat my new Thunderstar wheels
Here's my two cents.........
Forget the Silver Metallic; there's not a lot of silver/chrome anyway.
As you already stated, Candy Blue would be over kill. Besides, they are two different tones of blue........tacky.
Charcoal Mellalic would be my second choice but again, doesn't quite match fender/tank set. I think it may look way cool though....would add a 3-D effect to the bike.
I think you should go with the Gunmetal Metallic. This colour will accent all your black parts (engine and seat) and will make the bike look solid on the road. It will make the bike look sure and confident.
I just slapped myself for sounding too much like my wife (after 25 years, she's getting to me).

Maybe I'm color blind but I think that Charcoal metallic is in the same color bandwidth as blue (or close enough in my mind) so I think that it would work with, rather than against, the other colors in you bike. Post some photo's when its done.
