Moving my bike with keys sticking out of my pocket, bent over my gas tak and damed keys nicked my tank clear thru the paint down to the primer, not just a scratch that could be rubbed out either. Fckk! Couple more of those and Im closer to a custom paint job!

 

That sucks! However, good reason to paint the tins. "Sorry honey, I can't ride with this big scratch on my tank." Something like that.

 

Buy another set off of ebay and paint the scratched ones. That sounds like a solution to me. Make the best of a bad situation.

 

Hey 07 deluxe, I have a 07 deluxe also an was wondering what year fatboy seat you have on yours. Did you have to do any modifications to it to fit.

Totally understand how you feel. I dropped a solid wood door on my Fatty the 3rd week I owned it, and dented the tank. Getting it fixed after my Stage I.

 

go to the local body shop... it would amaze you what they can fade and blend... at least have them give it a look? i had a bike get key'd about a year ago... i brought it in and had my buddy do some old school pinstripe flames on it... covered it right up! you would never have known...

 

Good luck with it - dropped a bolt that bounced and chipped my front fender last year...was able to touchit up pretty good, but it's still dissapointing.

 

I hate when crap like that happens. You beat yourself up with "what was I thinking". I once had a little tiny dentona rear fender.Hardly noticeable I thought.Soon as someonesaid "hey... do you know you have a dent here?"it wassuddenly the size of a baseball in my mind. .

 

Yea, Those Damn keys will do it every time.............
