Default Wind Deflectors, Quick Release

Hey all,
Like most I prefer the look of my Heritage without the wind deflectors. However, I do ride in the rain a lot and every little bit helps so I have them. I read here somewhere that someone had boltedthe deflectersdirectly to the quick release windshield. I asked for photos and never got them so I thought I'd give it a go myself! Instead of the detailed instructions, I figured I'd provide photos!

My wind deflectors are now mounted directly to my windshield and come off the bike with the windshield! How does it take? How long does it take to remove the windshield? Seconds! Re install is just as fast however a little more care is required to avoid any scratches!
Here are the photos!

Hope some one else likes this!
Scott

PS: Yeah, I know, I'll switch the bolts to stailess and cap the nuts eventually!

That looks great!
do they work just as well?
I hate the things, but this might be a workable solution.

Great idea ! Never liked the look of those, however with them coming off with the windsheild may make it an option now. Thanks for the post

Thanks Guys,
Yeah, they do work as well. If not better. Since the holes I drilled for the bolts are much larger than the diameter of the bolt I have some room for adjusting the deflecters abit. Ever notice they sometimes vibrate a bit on one of the blinkers? Well, I can loosen thebolts a bit and slide it away!

Went for a nice chilly ride on the freeway today. 39 degrees! I wanted some freeway time to be sure these don't flap or wiggle in the wind. No problems at all!

So far ( today ) I've had about 1 hour freeway and 1.5 hours at 30-40 mph speeds and am very happy with the setup! When I got home, I popped thewhole thing off in seconds and went for another ride! VERY COOL to be able to be rid of the deflectors that quick!

The garage has my wifes 1988 corvette coupe and my 69 corvette convertible.
The 69 is getting a completely new updated suspension. I'm just waiting for parts. The 69 is the one on jack stands.

Update us on the ride. I'm wondering how the bottom of those deflectors will respond when you hit 60+ mph. With nothing holding them in place that low it would seem they might get to bouncing, so I'm interested in how it works out. Other than that, it looks good and sounds like a good idea.
