Should I go with HD or Cobra? Anyone know who makes the HD tach and are they accurate?

Not sure about white face would look with consoleblack face speedo?

I was looking to do this too. But, I may go with the Speedometer/Tachometer combination and just replace the Speedometer that's there, this way you dont have to mess with brackets and wiring. The only thing when you order this is that you have to specify the Odometer reading.

Yeah, that was my original thought Mike. Was trying to keep cost down. but, in the end, your right, less wires and mounts to deal with. ****, the mount costs more than the gauge...

Went down to local HD stealer and found out that HD mini tach is made by Maxima Technologies..

Took the tach out of box and placed it on a Deluxe. Pretty sweet..

I can also cut the cost down by using Chrome Plated bracket : HD 68150-05 $37, so total cost is $174 with SH. Not bad, and still looks respectable.

 

I installed the mini-tach on my heritage 2 years ago. It looks and works great. The needle doesn't bounce and it's easy to read.

I have the HD mini tach on my Heritage and found it not to be the most accurate tach. Flutters at high rpms and doesn't track smoothly above 4k rpms. As far as the speedo/tach combo I like the way they look but you are reallylooking down to see your tach. The handle bar mount of the mini tach doesn't cause you to look down as much. Just my .02.
