Default stock heat shields

I am new to the forums and new to hd.I have been reading and learning on here for months. This is without a doubt the most knowledgable, informative forum I,ve found by far. I am installing rush 1.75 slipons on my 07 deluxe this weekend. Do the stock heat shields just bolt back over the new mufflers? Any first hand experiance would be greatly appreciated.

I also read a post about sealing the joint with a sensor safe copper sealant. I bought new clamps,is the sealant advisable?

Mine are stock also over Rush slip ons. I showed Rush and they seemed suprised. I did not use anything on the joint and used the clamps that came with the stock.

Shields went back on the Rush slipons on my Deluxe. I wasn't going to use them but after contemplating it for awhile I decided that 1) my wife would burn herself worse and/or melt more of her boot on my pipes than she already does on a regular basis and 2) in really hot weather I was a little concerned about a heat shieldless top pipe in proximity to the bottom of the saddle bag. Anyway, They look good.

OK, this may seem like a stupid question with an obvious answer, but where are the stock heat shields and how do they install over the new slip-ons?
