I travel a lot with my job, so before I left on my last trip I cleaned the bike with the aresol HD brand cleaner/polish. It was spotless. I come back 10 days later and there are little spots all over it. It has been parked in the garage the whole time and never moved. I racked my brain all night trying to figure out what was up. Then I go to my box of shop rags and pull out a rag to wipe it down, and there is rat crap all in the box. So then I start looking, and I can make out little foot prints in all the spots. There are literally thousands of tiny rat prints on every flat surface of my bike. I can't believe it. There was no sign of rats anywhere accept on the bike and in my box of shop rags. So, it kinda eased my mind to at least know what was all over my bike. Oh, did I mention there was a dried yellow substance on my gas gauge that had ran down my tank and dripped on the shifter (rat **** I assume). Anyway, I cleaned the bike, set rat traps, and caught two of the little punks. I haven't caught one in about 5 days, so hopefully I gottem all. I will be leaving traps set for awhile though. I am still in shock. I guess the cleaner attracted them. I also checked wiring under the seat to make sure they didn't chew anything.

Has anyone ever heard of this???

The polish I use hasa slight banana scent to it , maybe the rats like the smell and are just looking for something to eat ! I've had no problems with rodents !

I have Had mice get up under my seat and build a nest. Disgusting! I went to Home Depot and got multiple packs of mouse poison and spread in all around my bike. Haven't seen another.

Better check inside those pipes before firing up. One of those flamingmissles could compromise your roof.

 

How big are the rats that are walking and pissing all over your bike? Get a cat....

 

That is the most likely situation. You must abandon any future efforts to clean or maintain your bike.

 

I would rather have the rats...no offense to cat lovers.
