Default Fatboy pictures with Sundowner Touring Seat

Hi all, I'm thinking of getting the Sundowner touring seat for my 06 Fatboy, but read here that it looks butt ugly. I will be gratefull for some pictures of a Fatboy with the Sundowner seat fitted if any one has one. The catalogue only shows a small part of the bike so you can't get a proper idea of the overall appearance. Many Thanks,
Dave

Does it look like this without the back rest, the above is the signiture seat I think they look the same but could be mistaken.

It's this one, but I'm hoping to see a picture of the whole bike to get a better idea of what it will look like.

There are some owners on the forum I remember reading some threads and they thought they were very good an comfortable.
Hopefully a member will send a full size pic of their'son the bike.

Failing that call a dealer see if they have a used bike with one on, you will then be able to try it for comfort.
Somes seats so I have read push you forward an inch and some lift you up.
Dock Gate 20 is a good place.

I tried this one on my Fatboy. I think it's the one you're looking at. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_USfor

This seat would probably be more comfortable but it pushed me forward almost an inch and a half because the butt support doesn't angle back like the stock one does. The rear pillion rocked left to right a lot too so I sent it back.

Eagle56 - Thanks for pointing me to that link, I've not seen that before. Pity it's a 2008 Fatboy though. I'll probably have a run to Dockgate 20 next weekend.

Bigbender - Thanks for the heads up on the seat moving from side to side, I guess it doesn't have the side retaining screws. However, I could do with moving forward an inch or two 'cosI've got short legs; it would be no good me having pegs on my highways bars, 'cos Iwould'nt be able toreach them.
What seat did you end up with in the end?

I've also considered trying to get hold of a Heritage seat to try as the Heritageriding position seems to suit me better, but I've read that the pillion is not so good.

Yea, the Sundowner uses the same three mounting screws but the passenger pillion just isn't as stable. It might stop wobbling with the rider up front ? I'm still using the stock seat with an inner gel pad but my a$$ pushes against the seam between the two pieces. If I decide to keep the Fatboy for another year, I'm having a friend convert it to a one piece with memory foam and the gel. That will eliminate the seam.

I have the Sundowner deep bucket on my 06 FatBoy and like it a lot. I'm on the short side too and can still flatfoot while sitting on the bike. Its not the greatest looking seat but its not butt ugly either. If you after comfort this seat will do nicely. Buy the way the seat attaches with the tounge in front and a single screw on the rear.
