Default Vance & Hines fuelpak+

Has anybody installed a fuelpak in a 07 Fatboy? The fuelpak came with two installation instructions one for just says softail and the other says Duece and 200 rear tire, I called Vance & Hines and they told me to follow the one for Duece and 200 rear tire. I'm trying right now and the instructions are totally wrong, it says to remove relay box bracket by bending 2 metal tabs and remove, well there is no metal tabs that I could see it looks like the bracket is held in by 3 wire ties. I hate to cut ties if I don't have to. Any help would be appreciated.

The tabs they are talking about, as you are looking at the side of the relay box bracket that faces the rear of the bike, will just look like two small indentations. I was able to squeeze them flat with a pair of medium length needle-nose pliers. Once you can do that and cut the three wire ties you were talking aboutthen the relay/fuse boxes will be able to slide down the slots on the bracket. I wasn't able to push the relay/fuse boxesdown quite flush with the frame like they tell you to do, but it still all fit, just barely.

Edit --> BTW, this was on a Deuce, but it sounds like it should be the same.

Hi, I have been down this road once before with the Fuelpak. My 06 Night Train rangreat but I hated the installation. I had to loosen thefuse pack and shove it further down behind the battery and I used plastic ties to hold everything in place including the connectors. Itdidn't fit very well and it looked like ****. My installation was identical to the one shown in the link.

My advice to you is toreturn the Fuelpak for a refundand spend the extra money for the Screaming Eagle Racing Tuner. I can't tell you how much better my bike runs, even with the canned map. It will perform even better when I put it on the dyno. The difference between the Fuelpak and S.E. Racing Tuner is night and day and you won't have to relocate anything under the seat.

Good Luck

i did my install and like you i didnt want to remove anything or cut anything, so for about 2 hrs i tried to get it to fit...not gonna happen have to remove the relay/fuse holder....one thing i did do was put the top back on over the fuses so there isnt anything pushing on them.. also i cant say anything about the S.E.R.T. but i love my fuel pack, installation sucks but, my bike runs great.

I just installed the pciii usb and it was the same instructions. I decided to keep the bracket that holds the relays as my module is mounted behind the rear wheel slash guard where Harley would have put the alarm siren. There is an opening for the wiring and it goes between the relay and fuse set. The connectors are the same place as in the photos posted here. I set the throttle and ran the bike and it runs fine but lost about 5mpg.
