Default plastic rear fender protector/fender bib

I'd like to take the clear plastic stick-on fender shield off my rear fender without screwing up the paint. Who has done this successfully and how? Secondly, I assume that the fender bibs cover the plastic? If I took the plastic off, could I leave a fender bib on under the passenger pillion when it is on the bike? Thanks for any help you might provide.

I would leve it on unless your not planning one putting a passenger pillon on. Its there to protect the paint from getting rubbed off bythe bottom of the seat.

If you put a fended bib on, it will cover the protective plastic. I wouldn't want to put a paasenger seat on over it. That would probaly rube worse.

I've taken it off when I had my Deuce and purchased a solo saddle. Peel off what you can, then take the residue off with Mothers polish. It takes a little elbow grease, but all comes off without any markings.

I took mine off since I mostly use a solo seat. It peeled off fairly easy. On occassion I switch over to the stock seat for two up and have not seen any damage on gthe fender from the passenger pillion.

Thanks for the info. I too was thinking of putting felt on the bottom of the pillion. I thought most bibs came with felt on the fender side too? That plastic just drives me crazy every time I take the seat off. It wasn't even applied perfectly as it has a couple of creases in it. I don't want to end up with the paint rubbed though.
