Default Exhaust bracket removal

Hello, I'm new to this forum so I hope my first question isn't a stupid one. I'm putting new pipes on an 08 Fatboy and the instructions say to remove the factory exhaust bracket and replace with their bracket. I took the 2 nuts off the bottom, but I don't know how to get the middle of the bracket loose that the footpeg is connected to. Thanks for any suggestions.

Take the footpeg off, should be a snapring on the side.
Then there is a bolt inside the footpeg mount.

Thanks for the info, will the bolt be too long to put the footpeg back on after the bracket is gone?

You may have gotten spacers for the foot peg. I got them with my cobra pipes.

Mine are Bassani pro streets, no spacers. Guess I can make one. Gotta go to the store now to get one of those star drivers for that bolt behind the footpeg. Thanks for the reply. Your bike looks good in the pic, I'm just starting to put some things on mine.

You will most likely need a relocation bracket or spacer.
My pipes are V&H and they came with one as well.

If it's the same as on my Deuce, you'llneed a long T50 torx driver to get to that bolt. The Sears near me didn't have any long ones and after looking around I finally found a set of them at Autozone.

Thanks for the headsup on Autozone, I just got back from Home Depot with a set and they were too short. I'll take them back tomorrow and try Autozone. Thanks to everyone for your input!
