after you loosen the nut on the shock which way do you turn the shock if you want to stiffen the load? clockwise or counter-clockwise?

 

Turn the shock counterclockwise (when facing the rear of the bike)to stiffen preload.

I turned mine 3 complete turns, happy with that. Im 210 lbs.
