Default Heritage front wheel on a Night train

I am new here andI know there have been a couple of other posts on this, but I have not been able to get the exact info I have been looking for. I have an 07 night train that I am in the process of putting a front wheel of off a Heritage softail. I am having some issues with centering the wheel. I know the 07 fat boys had an off center wheel. Does anyone know if the heritages had the same situation, if so does anyone know the offset they used? I know a couple of people here have done this swap, any insight you could offer would be most appreciated.

I tried to get a pic of the bike to load, but I keep getting an error message.

Don't know if you saw my writeup on my '03 conversion..

https://www.hdforums.com/m.asp?m=907...age=27&key=

Had to offset mine by th 1/4" to allow clearance for the fender.

unfortunately, i can't tell you the exact spacer sizing. i put a blacked out fatboy wheel on my '05 train and took it down to my mechanics shop where it cost me $30.00 and a 12-pack. Got workin on the lathe and had my front wheel centered and rollin in no time! good luck and throw up some pices when you get the job done!

here should be a pic of my bike. Thanks for the info, I have a buddy that can cut the spacer for me. Did you guys run the wheel in the center? Or did you offset it slightly? I think they where slightly offset from the factory.

Original spacers were, from sitting on the seat, right side 7/8 “ and left side (disc brake) 1 “. In order to find proper spacing I did a lot of measuring and cutting PVC plastic water pipe to use as mock up spacers. I determined the spacers needed to get the “tire” centered would be right side 5/8” and left side (disc brake) of 1 1/4 “.

Orig. spacers 7/8” plus 1” equals a total spacer width of 1 7/8 inches.
New spacers of 5/8” plus 1 1/4 “ equals a total spacer width of 1 7/8 inches.
Note: offset by 1/4 “

thewheel moved to the right, toward the exhaust side, by 1/4".
The "bracket" for the fender on the front forks on the '03
is wider on the left (disc brake) side. without moving the wheel
to the right i would not have had clearance for a fender on the left. as done the tire is centered under the fender.

My wheel is currently offset to the left hand side with the old spacers. Did you move yours from left hand offset(disk side) to the right side? Fender wise I have not ordered one, I am looking at one of the many after market ones. It just seems as though I would be moving the wheel a total of about 1/2 to 3/4 of inch to get it offset to the right. Hey, thanks for the help.

Looks to me by your pic that you would need to move it the
same as mine....1/4" to the right (exhaust side)...i.e. your pictures left.

Get yourself some plastic pvc pipe, with interior size big enough for your axle, and cut some spacers the size I used and see what it looks like.

i guess I do not understand where your wheel is currently located. My plan was to move mine 1/4 inch to the right which would put the wheel in the middle of the forks. Is yours more to the pipe side or in the middle?
