Metzeler 210 on a 07 Fatboy?? Help??
I need some help. Has anyone installed a Metzeler 210 17 inch tire on a 2007 Fatboy. Are there any problems? Ive heard there is enough clearance and no modifications are necessary and the tire is a bit wider than the Dunlop 200 that comes standard. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. I just dont want to buy the tire and get screwed. My HD Dealer could not answer my questions regarding the Metzeler 210. Thanks.

It will fit, I had the Meztler 210/50/17 fitted to my 07 FLSTF only a month ago.I have ridden 1800kms on this rear tyre. My impressions, far better then the 200/55/17 Dunlop, tyre is a flatter wider design, something like on a sportsbike. Hence, tyre doesn't roll in quite the same way as the standard Dunlop. Not to say that it is any way dangerous, only different, recalibrate your riding style for the first couple of kilometres and it willmake perfect sense (after about 100 kilometres/60 miles, you will truly love the Meztler).
The Meztler is actually wider on the rim then Dunlop (the first day I had it fitted, I hadone other Harley rider and two pedestrians comment on the wide rear tyre). The Meztlereasily fits within the swingarms, and is visibly wider then the Dunlop. The Metzler is slightly lower profile, hence, you may touch down the floorboards a little sooner.
Downside to Metzler is that a front tyreisn't made for our front wheel (I have sent an email to Metzler inquiring as to when a tyre would bemanufactured in that size/no reply), so I am running a Dunlop on the front wheel. The only other issue, is that the tyre is stickier then the Dunlop, therefore, may not last as long.
I got10,200 kms (6,000miles)out of myoriginalDunlops.

i would not do it. stay with the 200mm tire. i have a 07 custom and i put a 210 met on and what a big mistake. the tire will fit but it will wear out fast. and when i say fast i mean u will have to replace it in1800 miles due to masive tire cuping. i have 2500miles on mine right now(becouse i wanted to get all the miles out of it that i could)and nowi am getting groves cut intothe tire. i put the bike away for winter and i all ready have a dunlop ready to put back on it for the up comming riding season. the really bad thing is the tread to the right and left of center is bran new. i have talked to a few people around and they all told me the same thing. if you put a bigger tire on you will need to put a bigger rim on as well or it will wear out to fast. that was the main reason why the tire cupped. even though met says you can put it on DONT. just tring to save you $300.00. just tring help you from making the same mistake that i did.if you do decide to put one onplease let me know if ur tire cups as well.
