Default Softail Deluxe heat shields

Hey,
Since the shotgun exhaust on the Softail Deluxe goes over and under the passenger footpeg, this could cause some serious injury. Will adding heat shields resolve this issue? Thanks.

Little to any if at all. Even with a heat shield it will still get blistering hot.

OEM has heat shields installed. Remove them for example to install Rush without replacing the heat shield and you will feel big heat and melt a shoe or two...

Yes, I have the same setup on my 07 Deluxe....very noticible heat difference. I am feelin' a spend comin' on so I imagine I will have V&H duals by summer...like the look and a sound clip posted by Luxe kind of took me over the edge.

If it were me I would put the OEM shields back on.....or count on some damage EVERY time you have a passenger....and hopefully the damage will not be to the passenger.

k2, if your passenger touches the heatshields with thier boot, shoe,or whatever it will melt instantly. I have had to remove tennis shoe & boot sole. Be very careful gettin of the bike you certainly dont want a leg gettin on there!!!!!
