Default Threadlocker red on shift pegs?

Tried to muscle my rear shifter peg off and sheared the bolt. I saw red threadlocker in there. how do I get the front one off without breaking it? Will heat work? Thanks!

Heat will work but be carefull not to use too much, you weaken your shiter arms.

I agree with sonar_chris, but I simply rapped a towel around my peg so I wouldn't damage the peg with channel locks and worked the peg back and forth until it basically heated itself up and then removed it. Takes a little muscle and patience... Good luck!

I used a little heat and vice grips. The rear actually came off fairly easily, but the front one was a b!tch to get off,I thought I was going to bend the shifter!

Thanks fellas,
I tooused vise grips on the rear onebut no heat and it twisted right off at the base of the peg. Not sure how I can work it back and forth though...it's tight. I'll try a bit of heat on the front one and give it a twist.
