Default New toys for the Fatty

Got the new bars and windshield on. Put new mini apes on with new grips, and mirrors. Also a new Hd windshield. The bars fit great! I was worried about cables and wiring but they went on fine. The windshield went on real easy also. Not sure about the height. I seem to be looking right at the top edge. Maybe it will be different when I am going down the road. Mark

Not sure how high you sit in the seat, but I have the same problem on my Fatty. Particularly as a day wears on, I find I'm bobbing my head up and down, trying to either look over it, or through it, not right across the top of it. I'm going to cut it down a 2 - 3" thins spring. Lots of threads on the forum telling you how to do it, and make it look professional. Are the new bars mini apes? If so, what height? Looks great. Nice changes.

Yah, what size apes did you go with? I am going with 16's next month. My back was killing me with the stock ones.

Hey, Mark, did you go with the standard Harley Davidson Mini Apes? Or another brand? Are they the inch and a quarter? Or something different? The bike looks great by the way. On the shield, you might want to think about cutting it down a tad so you are looking slightly over the top. You'll get the best wind deflection that way too and good visibility. In my opinion. I want the mini apes too but have been hesitant on pulling the trigger on them. Did you use the stock cables with them or did you have to get longer ones. I know this is a lot of questions, but any advice would be appreciated. Bernie

Bought the apes through Hd dealer. They are the same as a Wide Glide which are 10" I think. Used the stock cables just fine. May have to do some trimmin on the windshield, not sure if I have the sack to cut on it while it's brand new!
