Default Dyno tune, torque and HP

I just had a dyno done and what a difference over the canned map. I was just wondering what others have gotten from a dyno. I got 11HP more and 9lb torque increase. HP=75.41 torque=87.36

i s'pose this raises a question that I have . Is there more than a fair chance that dyno on the bike will materially increase the HP/TQ .It costs more than a few $ and i would do only if it is reasonable bang for the bucks.

It would if you also do a stage 1. That is free flowing pipes and air breather. I have not heard of anyone doing it on a stock bike but i am sure it would make a difference. You would need to add a fuel management system in order to adjust it. It will make the 07 and newer run much cooler.

If you are talking about having a dyno tune and fuel management system added rather than just running the HD download with your stage 1 that would depend how close the download is with what pipes you are running. You can always have a dyno shop make one run to see where your at and determine whether it is worth the extra money. The key is to find a tuner that will be honest on how much more he can get you with what you have. You can almost always gain something with a custom map. You have to decide how much more you want to spend for a little extra HP.

tks - i suspected as much but had not asked before. dyno test seems to be quite expensive and if it only gives a few extra horses then that is probably my answer.

It was not about HP with me but the way the bike runs. After the dyno it was smooth thru all the gears and the fuel millage was consistent. I am sure it took out he lean and rich spots and that would help the engine life. The dyno is only as good as the person doing it. The shop that does it best and the person was also the least money. $280. The other shop in town has 3 people that do them but only one is good. They charge $425. From whatI have read the stock bikes are at about 60% and the canned maps make it about 80% and the dyno makes the bike about 90% to 95% depending on the person. This was about the 07 and newer with the lean burn.

Exactly. I had it done on my '08 CVO 110" to get away from the stock lean condition. I went with the SERT and pipes and my dyno guy only charged me 200 bucks and did a awesome job.FWIW I ended up with 90 hp and 112 tq.Not that much over stock, but it runs better and hopefully cooler.
