I know I'm from the darkside (the Dyna family), but I was hoping you Softail owners could help me out a little, What is the rear axle size of a Fatboy with the stock 16X3 rim?

I'm looking at going to a solid rim on the rear of my 05 WG and I was wondering if a stock take off from a Fatboy would require any mods.

Depends on year model. I forget if the break is '02 or '03 but the older ones were 3/4" and the newer ones are 1" The '07 and '08 models may be a new metric size. Not sure tho.

 

Does anyone know for sure? I have seen info that says 03 Fatboys have 3/4 and 1 inch. Just not sure which is right.
