Default Price for rear tire change at dealer

I was wondering what others have paid recently for a rear tire change at the dealer? I plan on purchasing a new Metzler and providing it to whomever...I tried searching on the forum and did not find anything. Local dealer is closed today or I would call. Also, would I be better/worse off taking to an independent for this? My ride is a bit modified from stock so I am a little nervous taking to an independent. I normally do all of maintenance myself but think changing a tire would be beyond my ablities and don't want to screw anything up. Many thanks!

I usually pay about $25.00 to have a tire I provide mounted on my rim, including a new valve stem and balancing. Note: I take the rim off the bike and put it back myself. Note2: I go to a dealer but NOT the H-D dealer.

Some dealers will not install a tire they did not sell, liability issues, etc. You may want to check first. Generally indys are better about stuff like that. You are better off taking in just the wheel if you can. Get a new tube and if you have spoked wheels, a rim strip. I pay my indy $20 for mount & balance, I pull the wheel. JMHO,YMMV, etc.

I just paid 11 Euros to the local guy that deals with Harleys. (No dealer where I am.) That was the deal; half an hour.

Anyhow, so after about 1.5 hours, we had to put everything back again. Lol. DipStick didn't have a full set of Imperial tools. Total nightmare.

Finally did it myself, with the help of a bud at the end, ....I have the tools. Took me about 3 hours to get the thing off. 2.5 hours of that was getting the slipons off.

Went back with the wheel and a 24 pack....... He whacked the wheel on the rim for free. .....Sometimes I'd love to be in the States.

They charge 1 hour labor to change either front or rear tire. At our dealership, the rate is $75 per hour.

45 bucks for mount and balance. I take the wheels off myself and bring them and the tire in.
