RE: My left turn signal turns on by itself, please help.
You've got a club member, "1of2", having the same thing happening to him.
Anything changed in your electrical system? Dale can't explain his yet (I don't think).
Have you added anything to alter electrical load? (lights, garage door opener, LEDs).
This may be a symptom of the TSM (turn signal module) starting to go, or a bad/correded electrical connection.
Someone here may have a better idea. Always a great place to ask questions.

your sig reads with the word image in the [ ].......change that to lower case img at the beginning and end, and your photobucket image should magically appear a a pic.

Try spraying a little bit of WD 40 into the switch button.
I had a starter switch button engage on it's own because of moisture in the switch housing
well, the moisture was more like "water" from the endless pounding of rain, but, you got the idea.
If the WD-40 works you know what's wrong.

dog
I have heard if the bars are not really smooth on the inside then after a while a dag could rub through and cause a short.
Sounds like this is what has happened to your ride. i would be Pulling the cables and checking them before something more terminal happens.
Better to spend a couple of hours now than be stranded somewhere. Cause lifes like that.lol
The bars I put on mine make comment about haveing rounded surface etc inside to help prevent this.
I had a 91 FXRSP where the left blinker only worked while on the side stand. Problem ended up being a broken wire where it went under the tank, note the wire was not damaged outside but wire strands had broken in side the wire so the wire looked ok but when U moved the bars it would either pull the wires apart or push them togeather. So if U pull your wires out and nothing looks wrong do a check with a test light or meter on each wire from one connection to the other.
Good luck I hate electrical problems.

my first guess would be pinched wires. maybe the insulation on one of the headlightwires was pinched/stripped/cut and is shorting with the turn signal wire. Try changing from low to high beam or vice versa when it happens. if the flashing stops, that's your problem.
