Default Lowering my bike

I am going to the dealer in the morning to finalize the deal and was wondering if lowering the night train an inch was a good idea and if i would really notice the change. Also if i was going to lower it how should I. IN the HD catalog there is shocks and then just bolts to lower so i want to know the right way if i was going to do it.

Thanks

Hi Volcom, The best value for money are the progressive 422's, a new adjustable shock! Fit these and you will have better suspension and adjustable height n rebound.

Volcom,
You can pay for those overpriced HD shocks, or you can buy an Arlen Ness lowering kit OR you can just put out the $$ and get an air suspension. Take your pick.

The H.D. Shocks is a waste of money... Hardly noticeable..

I'll second that...I installed the Progressive 422's on my '06 Standard and haven't regretted it for a minute...lowered my bike 1 1/2" and it looks AND rides better than it did at stock height w/ stock shocks...you CAN go with the press-in lowering bolts on your stock shocks but IMO that's just for the look...if you want the ride to go with it get the 422's [sm=smiley20.gif]

I have the HD lowering kit installed when I bought my Train

here's a pic:

You can see it isn't down that much. For my money, I'd go with the Progressive kit vs. the HD parts, kinda kicking myself right now. Wanna buy mine??? Hardly used!!

As T_Rob mentioned, if you want air it sounds like the SAS kit is pretty sweet.

I've got the Arlin Ness lowering kit for the back and the factory offering lowering kit for the front. I've got the rear set about half way.

I got a bolt kit off ebay on stock shocks slamed all the way, but rides pretty ruff looks vs comfort? Go with 422's better damping I think it's all about how much you wanna spend
wouldn't go with HD's.

Overpriced but at the time new no better. Love the look and the feel is great.
