Default installing a 6 speed on my 2000 fatboy

I considering installing a 6 speed in my fatboy. Has anyone ever done this and what setup did you go with. Im trying to figure out wich way to go. I would really like to keep it low in the cost area. Thanks for your help.

Yep. I put a Screaming Eagle six speed gear set in my '03 Heritage. Sixth gear in this set is an overdrive gear. It really reduced the engine rpm at 70-75mph. I've got over 50K miles on the transmission now, and have not had any problems. One of the best investments I've made on that bike.

Not to try & discourage you, but it is not low cost, unless you get one off a totaled bike and wrenched it yourself.Do you ride your Fatboy on the interstate a lot? That seems to me the only logic in a six speed. It is a true over drive.
