Default Low Profile Tank Console

Guys, I need help.....I'm installing a set of Carlini pullback bars on my FXST. Got them mocked up today, and realized that when I turn the bars to one way or another, I have NO clearance between the bars and my tank console. So, I'm now considering a low profile tank console Part # 71208-07. I measured the stock one, and it's 6" tall (from the bottom of the rubber to the top of the trim ring on the front of the tank). I realize that some of you already have this on your scooters. How much shorter is it? Any suggestions would be appreciated.....

Its not much lower. At the front its 5 3/8" from the bottom of the rubber to the top of the bezel.

Thanks for the update. That would give me more clearance......but at a pretty hefty price. But at 5 3/8", it would give me another 1/2" of clearance. I appreciate you taking the time to help out.

I had the same bars on my 01 standard. I just put a few 1 1/2" diameter washers between the bars and riser bushings creating a spacer. It worked great and is much cheaper than a new console.

This will work very well for you, but I suggest you use stainless steel washers, so they don't put rust marks on the top of the tripple tree. And get a pair of longer grade 8 bolts to hold the bars on with. The washers are going to change the loading angle on the bolts and going to a stronger grade 8 bolt along with poly bushings will insure thatthey don'tget much of a chance to flex and possibly snap in a hard brakeing situation.

you can buy integral bar risers though.... 1inch and 1.5 inch for 80 bucks or so.. the bolt on like caps to the bottom of the riser to raise them up off the triple tree. In the J&P Catalog and Drag Specialties.
