Cross bones or keep my NT
I was at the dealer yesterday and saw the cross bones for the first time. holy **** thats a nice bike, sat on, drooled on it, never thought anything would have the opportunity to replace my NT, but now I don't know. The only hiccup is my wife, she says go for it, but she dosn't want me doin any mods for at least a year.
so, what do you guys think? would you pull the trigger and sell your NT for the cross bones?

Idon't have a Night Train, but did the same kinda thing last August. Traded my '05 FXST for a '08 FXSTC. My wife said the same thing. I waited til December and by then she let me spend $2,200.00
Anyway what's the story with the Train, what year? Do what the heart says. Or wait 30 days and then see if you still want it.

They are both part of that dark horse family. I would think it depends on how much time and money you have invested in your Night Train and how much you prefer a Springer front end versus standard forks.
What is your motivation? I've made a similar decision before. I used to have a set of his and her Sportsters. Mine was a 1200C and the wife had a 1200L. She didn't ride the Low much - it wasn't working out to be the right bike. Anyway, I later added my Springer to the garage. Then I had essentially three bikes that I could/would ride and the wife technically had none. She found a Deuce that she liked and it was obvious she'd put some serious miles on it if we had it. But bringing it home meant trading the Sportsters. It might be apples and oranges but the only thing that got me to sell my Sportster was knowing the wife would be able to ride her own bike.
So consider all your motivations for doing the swap. Also check to see how many of your current mods will port over. If you do it, maybe you can take the Train to stock and move some parts to the new one. Or, you can sell Train parts on Ebay to get mod money - that might get around the wife telling you no mods for a year.
If it were me.....I wouldn't trade my current bike for a Rocker (as nice as they are) but I am pretty sure I might consider it for the Boned if the deal was right.

here's a tip.....STAY OFF THE SALES FLOOR!
do what you gotta do to get around it to the parts/accessories counter and quickly get out of the building.
on a serious note, wait it out before you make that kind of a decision. do some research and go with the ol' gut feeiling. oh yeah, don't sign anything your wife puts in front of you, like a "no goodies for a year" contract.

Agree with DyNaBoB imboden. I sat on one Wednesday and liked it alot. The only changes I would make are the seat and black out the motor parts like the Train so why switch. I also think the springer would look better with the extra rake that the Train has. Swap front ends and you would be way ahead money wise.

Well you could mod your front end into a x bones pretty easy.Cheaper too

Keep the train, it's a classic and has a style of it's own.
Don't get me wrong, the bones is a cool bike but it just ain't a real bobber, which is what I think they were going.I guess you could say it's more of a new age bobber if that makes any sense. If I was going to have that style of bikeI think it would have to be a garage built deal. It's kinda likea store bought hotrod,,,there's no feeling in it.
