Tall riders (6'+) on FL bikes, which bar and riser setup?
After about a year, I have the Deluxe more or less where I want it, but my shoulder is begging for a handlebar change. Thinking about going with a set of Wild1's Chubby 550s and 4", straight risers. Trying to get some height and eliminate the reach back, since I really feel like I need to come forward. I'm 6'3" with relatively long arms. Anyone have a similar or different setup that works for them?

I'm 6'2 with long arms/short legs and I liked my bars so I moved my seat back instead.
It's been great for a lot of miles so far. After adding on extended shift/brake arms I have all the room I need for arms and legs and big feet...

Thanks all. I like the look of apes, but I'm not sure they would fit the look I'm going after with this bike. Trying to stay with the classic/nostalgia thing going. I really like those apes on that Heritage though! On top of everything else, I've had my seat rebuilt to give me more room, and I've tried an OEM Heritage and didn't really care for the hand position. I'm thinking some 550s with OEM Fatboy/Heritage risers might do it, but can't find a FL with that package to sit on locally.

I am running 10" wild 1 apes /w 1 1/2" risers. Much more comfortable.I would even look at the 12.5. If no apes. Try the wild 1 504 bars with 1 1/2 risers. Might get the look your after. Me personally I never liked the look of the deluxe pull back risers.

Unless you're dead set on changing out your bars, you may want to try a set of risers first. I found the stock bars on my FB a bit of a reach. It tended to put me in the perma "Harley slouch" position. With my back, that isn't a good thing. I'm six even, and have a fairly decent reach on me. However I picked up a set of 2 up/2 back risers, and it made all the difference in the world. It worked perfectly for me, and also alllowed me to keep stock cables in place. I was back on the road in just over an hour. I recommend you try risers first. If you still find your positioning needs tweaking, try the new bars. Just and idea. Could save you a few $$, and solve the problem at hand.

I have the Wild 1's WO572 ....14" apes with 3.5" risers...I like this setup, but haven't been able to make any long runs yet, due to the weather!! Much more comfortable and I like the look too!! BTW, I"m 6'2".....

I dig the apes, no question, just not sure they are for me on this particular bike. I'm thinking about the 504 bars with heritage or Fat Boy risers, but I'm worried about hand position. Wish someone had a mule to demo handlebar types and control locations!
