Rush Baloney Cuts Are On!

Rush Baloney Cuts Are On!
Installed Rush baloney cuts with the 2" baffles on my '08 Deluxe today.
It's an easy 1-1/2 hour job that took me a little over two hours because as other members have said, you got to do some field fitting as you go.
I am a just a little pissed because I had emailed Rush a few weeks agoabout comments that I have heard about fitment problems. They assured me that the 27 series will bolt right up to the '08s.
The problem is the factory mounting bracketon the motorcycle frame has two holes that are dead ***** 3-3/4" o.c.
The welded nuts on the stock HD shotgun mufflers are 3-3/4" o.c. (go figure)
The welded nuts on the Rush mufflers are 3-11/16" o.c. What's a 1/16" matter?
The difference between go and no go.
You have to take a drill bit and use it as a reamer and keep egging the bracket holes until the bolts will align and go in. Oh well, I will dro them another email to let themknow what their issue is.
I did reinstall the factory heat shields because we ride two up most of the time and the top muffler is right next to her boot heel. They don't look bad.
I fired her up and I likethe sounda lot. Deeprumble and a real bark when you crank it a little.
Its been raining all day here so my road test will be tomorrow.
Here are a few pics.

RE: Rush Baloney Cuts Are On!
Man, I can't wait to get mine! I'm all about the deep throaty sound, and from what I've heard, the Rush deliver just that. I'm still torn on whatsize baffles to get. I keep teetering between the 2 and 2.25. I've heard you can lose some low-end with the 2.25's, but I'm not that worried about it if the sound is better.

RE: Rush Baloney Cuts Are On!
I really thinkthe minor fit problemis a Deluxe specific problem.
The comments that I read on here a while ago mentioned "fuzzing out" the mounting holes on the bracketand that is exactly what has to be done to get the bolts to line up.
Another memeberhad said that they put only one out of two of the mounting bolts into each muffler because they gave up on trying to get them aligned. I wouldn't do that.
Here is the thread where some of those comments appeared:
