Default New pipes on '07 Softail

I bought some V&H Short Shots for my '07 Softail. Is it neccessary to buy a Fuelpak or power commander for the EFI? I was planning on having the ECM reset after the new pipes and K&N filter are installed.

You can run the pipes by themselves, but after you've installed the new air filter system, you must install some sort of fuel management system to avoid running way too lean.

Is the FuelPak better than the power commander? I've seen several fuel management systems online, but themajority of guys on herehave the V&HFuelpaks. Does it give you a noticable increase in performance?

Think you have it backwards, most guys have and really like the PCIII. It may or may not be all that much better but it isa lot easier to find maps for. Its also easier to get dyno tuned as many dyno's are setup toaccess it directly and can update the map's on the fly as it were.
If your looking for the "Best" fuel managment system, add-ons won't do. For that you have to basically junk the original ECM and use a complete replacement system like the TMax w/Autotune, or the Daytona Twin Tech system.

I have an 07 Deluxe. I put V&H Bigshot longs and used the fuel pak. You will need to do somthing to re-tune your ECM.
Most guys here do have the PCIII. As far as finding the map for you bike if you do go with the fuel pack, just go to Vanceandhines.com and they have a link to their fuel pak web site. From there you can get the map you need.
