Default Need help with front turn signals on 07 Fatboy

I'm trying to install chrome switch covers on my 2007 Fatboy and in order to do so, I somehow need to pull the wires for the front turn signals through the old covers. The problem is that one end of those wires goes right into the turn signal (can't get them out of there I don't think) and the other end goes into a 6 wire plug down under the gas tank that is split between the left and right turn signals (so I obviously can't pull that through). I guess I could cut the wires but I would really prefer not to do that. Am I missing something here? Please help. Thanks

You've got to be missing something. Put chrome switch housing and switch covers on my 06 Heritage. Nothing even came close to needing to be disconnected. Did have to cut the zip tie that holds the wire loom to the switch housing and then replace the ziptie when I put it all back together.

Wait a minute, are your handlebars internally wired? That could be the difference.

when i did mine i took apart the turn signal, removed the bulb and flatened out the tab on the end of the wire, pulled them out fed them thru new swith housing replaced heat shrink put back together and bent tab back into place, only do this once because tab can break if not carefull. dumba$$ at dealer told me they HAD to cut wire however i found that is just the layzy way out. good luck

I will try it that way when I get a chance....definitely seems better than cutting wires. I know I can do it fine but I still don't like the idea of hacking up a $17000 bike. I'll let you know how I made out. Thanks!
