Default Death to the Baffels!

Man the stock exhaust on this Rocker are killing me. I can't take it anymore!!

My question is if I can knock the stock baffels out without any ill effects. I heard a bike the other day at a Rally and it sounded pretty good considering all he did was take a punch and knock the baffels out.

I guess I'm just impatient but I talked to V&H today and they say 2 months on there BR. I'm telling ya'll I cant take this bike to thePanama City Beach Rally(Thunder Beach) with it sounding like this.

i knocked them out on my 07 night train while wating for my rush slip on's to arrive. it gave it more sound and did not seem to effect anything. i ran them like this for two weeks and noticed no difference in operating temp or power loss.

Thanks for the reply. That makes me feel a little better.

Anybody else have any experience with this.

I think they run too lean to start but i know someone who knocked them out and has not had a problem. be sure not to change the air cleaner until you do a fuel management

You can't just take the baffels out on the mufflers as they are welded in. But I found a cheap and easy way to get a little better sound from them without resorting to cutting a welding the baffels. Its also user friendly in that there is no need to remap the ECM unless you change out the stockAC.

Its posted over here https://www.hdforums.com/fb.asp?m=2557186
Mudpuddle started a really nice "How To" thread for the Dyna crew. But there are lots of easy/cheap mods that work for Softails too.

Thanks for the info guys. Just to let you know I knocked the baffels out this weekend and it sounds much better. Thanks for the advice. Now if only V&H would speed it up a little.
