Hertiage Vs. Deluxe - accessories
Does the two models have interchangeable accessories like saddlebags, backrest, and windshield? I don't know if a backrest comes off a Hertaige will it fit on a Deluxe? Tough to find out information on HD. I understand that years matter, but 'like' years should work, right?
Thanks

Some stuff works and some stuff does not interchange without adjustment. Heritage bags will not just bolt up on a Deluxe for example. The Deluxe is an FLSTN in the catalog so if it says it will fit that model it will. The Heritage is the FLSTC and accessories that fit this model may or may not fit an FLSTN.

Windshield and backrests are interchangeable.
HD Saddlebags on a Heritage will not go on a Deluxe with stock exhaust.
Road King HD saddle bags will go on a Deluxe.
AsCommander said, the catalog is not too hard to decipher for FLSTC and FLSTN fitments.

I've just been in your place. And I spent 6 months deciding. I went with the heritage. While they are basically the same bike with the same mounting positions. Most everything you will want to mount to the Deluxe will requirea mounting kit. The windshield, the bads, the sissy bar. But with only two expections just about everything on a Deluxe can go on a Heritage. You'll need to rework the fender to get the tombstone tail light one and the wrap around rear turn signals will won't fit with the Heritage saddle bags. Plus you'll spend a fortune getting all the extras.
