Default ? QUESTION ? DUNLOP 21" FRONT TIRE 2007 FXST

- POSTINGIN SOFTAIL FORUMFOR BETTER REPSONE - THANKS!

I have "cracking" at the rim edge of the tire, this tire only has 5,300 miles on it! Has anyone else experienced this? I have ONLY used soap and water to wash with and have NEVER used any type of tire dressing. Do you think this would fall under a warranty issue?

Thanks for you thoughts!

I disagree, tires clutches and brake pads are normally considered wear and tear items and generally have at best a limited warranty. But I would still take it back and have the dealer look at them.
Ya never know if the dealer might know how to get a new set for you. There is also the question of if you got wheel/tire insurance packaged in with the original cost of the bike.
I have it on mine, but it was months after I took the bike home before I discovered it.

Thanks for your response's guy's. Citoriplus ? Do I understand you right - you have the edge cracking also ? Do you have any thoughts on safety ? I know that the tire is a tube type, but, I am a little nervous with the tire cracking....
No, I do not have the extended warranty on the tires. The dealer offered it as an option, but was only for tread type issues... nails, blow out.... YIKES! etc.

Thanks again guys.

Guess I should have been clearer, no I don't have any crackingproblems with my tires. They still look fine. As for safety, if it's just small cracks I wouldn't worry too much, but I would keep an eye onthem and if they even hinted of getting worse I would start shopping around for a new one.
Like you said blowout YIKES!!! Not, not, not something I want to experience EVER!!!

Isn't cracking normally associated with dry rot?
