Default Throttle ties/clips..

To anyone that has changed out their cables to braided ones. What did you use to tie them together. The stocklines use a crappy bit of plastic. HD sell one for 30 bucks which is bit steep!

I have seen bikes in the past where the throttle cable is conected to the idle, and then that to the brake line.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me as I don't want my new cables smashing around all over the place.

Thanks in advance

Rob

deluxe, I just got in the mail yesterday chrome clamp, purchased from member on thhis forum in the classifieds. Email: allen@meancitycycles.com. They were $12.50, or $10 two or more, including shipping. One should do it for you. You can also, in the meantime, use chrome ties, made by Drag Specialties, .99cents a piece. Local HD dealer will probably have them.

May want to think about chrome frame clamps for your clutch cable. I put one on each side of the stock clamp holder. Drag Specialities got them for like $17. Looks great..

Thanks ronyd,

How did the clips work out?

Emailed allen, waiting on a response. Anyone else use these clips? Any good?

I'm curious, too. I am still using the crappy plastic one with my braided cables.

Timeing is everything, just finished putting braided lines, and a bunch of other winter mod stuff on the bike and was thinking that I needed something better for the clutch and throttle/idle lines. Maybe the front brake line too.

I don't know if this is the answer your looking for....................hell I can't even remember the question. I used Motion pro cable clamps I ordered from J&P to position & secure my braded cables.

Just heard back from allen at mean city and he is all out of the clips. Damm.

Luxe - I had seen those clips at JP but they are a bit $$ as are the Harley ones. The search continues...

They must be something out there. Anyone!

Deluxe, bummer. I should have bought whatever he had and then spread the wealth to others. Anyways, works good. It's got just enought of weight to keep the cables from flopping around. Luxe has clips which are interesting. But, to me, to much hardware. I'll keep my eye out and let you know if anything pops up on my radar....
